Gond kai laddu Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cup edible gum (gond)
  • 100gm Kamar Kash
  • 100gm White Musli
  • 100gm Dry Ginger powder
  • 100gm Pippali
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (atta)
  • 1 Kg ghee (clarified butter)
  • ½ kg jaggery
  • 1 cup each of chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios, Kismis (Raisins), chironji (cuddapah almond), Chuhare (Dates))
  • 100gm poppy seeds (Khaskhas)
  • 250 gm grated coconut (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 200gm carom seed (Ajwain)
  • 5 tablespoon turmeric (Haldi)
  • 200gm Fox Nut (Makhaana)
  • A pinch of saffron strands (soaked in a little warm milk)

How to make Gond Ke Laddu step by step guide (Instruction):

  • Start by roasting the edible gum. Heat a pan and add the gond pieces. Gently roast them in ghee until they puff up. Remove them from the pan and keep them aside.
  • In the same pan, add more ghee, and roast the whole wheat flour on low heat until it turns golden brown and gives off a pleasant aroma. This may take around 10-15 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.

  • Once the flour is roasted, add the roasted gond back to the pan.
  • Add the chopped nuts and grated coconut (if using) to the mixture and stir thoroughly.
  • Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool slightly, so it’s safe to handle.
  • Grease your hands with a little ghee, take a portion of the mixture, and shape it into laddus (round balls).
  • Continue to make laddus with the rest of the mixture. If it starts to harden, you can reheat it slightly.
  • Allow the Gond Ke Laddus to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.
